In order to fund big events such as the fashion weeks all over the world, Fashion PR agencies must bring in many sponsors in order to get the shows to work. This March, Toronto Fashion week in Canada was sponsored by World Master Card. While this is a large sponsor as it is, it wasn’t the only sponsor of the show. Sponsors such as Maybeline New York, Korhani Home, Joe Fresh, Sony, Mercedez-Benz and many more all put a portion of money in order to fund the show. In exchange for sponsoring the show, in return they wish to get publicity and make their brands and products known. While doing this they also put together a free gift bag to all that attend the show with samples of their products. Audience members get samples of the products given to them by the brands because these products are also used in the show. While using the products in the show, as well as giving them away, they are getting much publicity by big, influential people. People who attend these shows are reporters, designers and stylists, all looking for the new and latest trend. The sponsors sponsor these events in the hopes of bringing in a profit for their company. This type of Fashion PR is very effective and is done for all fashion events.
